Two Maple Crossing buildings received LISC Small Business Facade and Property Improvement Program facade grants. Skirting the eastern edge of Maple Crossing at the corner of Washington Boulevard and 38th Street lies the National, a building on its way to becoming an affordable all-day diner crafted by a well respected local chef. The National got a power washing and some maple leaf touting bike racks with its facade grant. Further west and near the center of Maple Crossing, at the corner of 38th and Illinois, the Concord building also received a facade grant. The facade grant will help this historic building will receive some necessary touch ups to its outer surfaces. It will also help update and maintain the neighborhood faces art installation featured on the upper portion of the building.
