King Commons: Let's Bike Project

The King Commons Let's Bike Project celebrates the environmental, economic, and physical resilience of King Commons residents. The overall purpose of this project will be to provide the residents of King Commons with: (1) an accessible, affordable, and environmentally-conscience means of transit access to other job centers, (2) an opportunity to progress in the vocational trade of bike maintenance and other employment, and (3) an opportune occasion to pursue physical health in an outdoor and social setting. The project is led by the Centers of Wellness for Urban Women in partnership with Freewheelin' Community Bikes. Sophia Ferries-Rowes and Endurance Ehimen, two of Let's Bikes interns, will not only assist in developing the project but will map out destination routes to area banks, schools, grocery stores, etc along with mapping bike racks in King Commons. Its important for Let's Bike to identify successful biking programs in King Commons and the larger Northwest Quality of Life area so that residents know of all of the biking projects in the QoL. This project will begin by the end of September 2019.
